Stephen Fong
Dr. Stephen Fong received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Mercy College with distinction and his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Rutgers College. For the past 8 years, Stephen has brought a strong understanding of the body and movement analysis to his physical therapy treatment utilizing a variety of techniques such as Maitland, Mulligan, McKenzie, McGill Method, Grastin, Neurodevelopmental Treatment as well as McConnel and Kinesiotaping.
Dr. Fong also has a keen interest in fostering the next generation of health care professionals. He has served as Program Head for the Mercy College Health Science Department as an Assistant Professor where he mentored students interested in Occupational Therapy, Physician’s Assistant Studies, and Physical Therapy. Currently, Stephen serves as a Lecturer and faculty member of the Mercy College Physical Therapy program where he teaches courses in Gross Anatomy and Kinesiology.
Presently, he specializes in workman’s compensation cases and serves as an expert in the administration of work conditioning programs and functional capacity evaluations. Work conditioning programs focus on total body fitness serves as an excellent transition back to the workforce. Dr. Fong is proud of his ability to provide an unbiased assessment during functional capacity evaluations which tests a client’s ability to withstand the rigors of their work environment.
Stephen understands that providing a safe avenue of return to work for injured individuals is just a first step towards long-term physical wellness and quality of life; and as such, he offers ongoing education and support to his clients and students.
